Ik droom van een witte kerst
Net als degene die ik vroeger kende.
Waar de boomtoppen glinsteren en kinderen luisteren
Om de slee belletjes in de sneeuw te horen.
Sneeuw betekent dat de noordelijke wind koud waait.
Nog een boomstam op het vuur om de kou buiten te houden.
Sneeuw betekent binnen blijven voor de oude
En dat de jongeren op de heuvel spelen.
Sneeuw betekent dat de post niet uit de stad komt.
En de vijver zal genoeg vrijmaken om te schaatsen.
