Well, Harry thought this was the funniest thing
That he had ever seen and he laughed, «Ha ha»
Jumped back in the bushes and got ready to do it again
The next guy to come along was the near sighted local DJ
Just boppin' down the sidewalk on his way to work
With a box of records on his arm that he was gonna play
So here come, not suspectin' nothin'

Man, that radio announcer didn’t even bad an eye
He was so near-sighted he thought

So he gave him the old glad hand
Slapped him on the back, smiled

Then he said, «Bye», bopped on off down the sidewalk
Every 4 5 steps he’d stop and doin' a little mash potatoes
Harry just stood there watching till he got out of sight

He got him some tight britches, got him a manager
Went on a promotion tour, combed his hair back
And took up playin' the guitar
And every Sunday afternoon
You can go see Harry at the zoo
And the girls will scream and he’ll sit on his swing
And pick and sing his hit record for you

Er is laatst iets vreemds gebeurd.
Je zult het niet geloven, maar ik zweer dat het waar is.
Harry de harige aap ontsnapte uit de dierentuin.
En in de duisternis begaf hij zich.
Naar het midden van het gemeentelijk park
Hij verstopte zich in de bosjes en wachtte tot er iemand kwam.
Hij loopt alleen in het donker.
Dan komt er iemand die niets vermoedt.
Harry sprong plotseling uit de bosjes
Sla op zijn borst, spring op en neer en hij zegt
"Woo hoo hee hee hoo hoo»
Waar Harry ape voor spreekt.
"Boe, ik wed dat ik je bang heb gemaakt, ha ha»
Ik maakte die arme kat zo bang dat zijn ogen uit elkaar gingen.
Zijn haar werd Wit.
Hij rende weg door het park.
Screamin', hollerin', tearin ' up the shrub
Graven in het gazon en de
Blijf van het grassignaal af, ren door het
Orkaan hek, viel in het gemeentelijk park
Zwembad en zichzelf verdronken
Harry vond dit het grappigste.
Dat hij ooit had gezien en hij lachte, " Ha ha ha»
Sprong terug in de bosjes en maakte zich klaar om het opnieuw te doen.
De volgende die langs kwam was de bijziende lokale DJ.
Gewoon over de stoep springen op weg naar zijn werk
Met een doos platen op zijn arm die hij ging spelen.
Dus hier komt, niets verdacht
Harry sprong plotseling uit de bosjes
Sla op zijn borst, spring op en neer en hij zegt
"Woo hoo hee hee hoo hoo»
Waar Harry ape voor spreekt.
"Boe, ik wed dat ik je bang heb gemaakt, ha ha»
Man, die radio omroeper heeft niet eens een slecht oog.
Hij was zo bijziend dat hij dacht:
Harry was een rock - 'n-roll zanger.
Dus gaf hij hem de oude blije hand.
Sloeg hem op de rug, glimlachte
Hij zei, " Maak je geen zorgen, schat, ik ga de plaat Afspelen
Toen zei hij: "dag", sprong op de stoep.
Elke 4 5 stappen stopte hij en deed een beetje aardappelpuree.
Harry stond daar maar te kijken tot hij uit het zicht verdween.
Man, hij wist niet wat hij moest denken, Ik bedoel, het schudde hem echt, hij rende terug naar zijn kooi, zo snel als hij kon en sprong op zijn kleine schommel, stak beide handen over zijn ogen
En heeft drie uur en 45 minuten niet gezocht.
Maar dat is niet het einde van het verhaal.
De DJ speelde Harry ' s record.
Welk record?
Het was een hit en hij werd een ster.
Hij gaf hem een strakke broek, gaf hem een manager.
Ging op een promotie tour, kamde zijn haar terug
En begon gitaar te spelen
En elke zondagmiddag
Je kunt naar Harry gaan in de dierentuin.
En de meisjes zullen schreeuwen en hij zal op zijn schommel zitten
En kies en zing zijn hit record voor jou
