When Paul gets really bummed out that’s when I get scared
But if Paul says there’s a glint of hope I feel we’ve all been spared
Sometimes when he’s on the TV in the background you can spot his school logo
Krugman teaches at Princeton U so Krugman ought to know
He’s got that hang dog look about him Paul’s one unhappy pup
Krugman looks so downtrodden I wish he’d lighten up And I know he wants to clue us in about all our impending doom
But I got The Krugman Blues from all Paul’s gloom
Once I saw Krugman on a train Amtrackin' to DC
I recognized his sad face cause I seen it on the TV
He looked up from his laptop when I said «Hello Paul»
Then I said «Keep up all the good work, Paul
You bring me down but way to go, Paul!»

Want Paul vertelt het altijd zoals het is we krijgen het blow by blow
Krugman heeft de Nobelprijs, dus Krugman moet het weten.
Als Paul naar de NewsHour gaat om met oude Jim Lehrer te praten
Hij ziet er zo verdrietig uit.
En alle andere experts lijken ver van de basis.
En ik denk dat ik me identificeer met die boze blik op Paul ' s gezicht.
Als Paul echt baalt, word ik bang.
Maar als Paul zegt dat er een glimp van hoop is ... dan voel ik dat we allemaal gespaard zijn.
Soms als hij op de TV is op de achtergrond kun je zijn schoollogo zien.

Krugman ziet er zo neerbuigend uit, Ik wou dat hij wat vrolijker was en ik weet dat hij ons wil vertellen over al onze dreigende ondergang.
Maar Ik heb de Krugman Blues van Paul ' s somberheid.
Ik zag Krugman op een trein naar DC.
Ik herkende zijn droevige gezicht, want ik zag het op TV.
Hij keek op van zijn laptop toen ik "Hallo Paul»
Toen zei Ik: "ga zo door, Paul.
Je hebt me neergehaald, maar goed gedaan, Paul!»
