Ik liep alleen door de verheven San Juans.
Met een hart vol licht en een hoofd vol liedjes
Ik dacht aan tijd en hoeveel het zal kosten.
Om de zielen te heroveren die we zeker verloren hebben.
In de steden en dorpen zijn er miljoenen die dromen
Maar het verkeer is zo luid dat je ze niet kunt horen schreeuwen.
Er is een hemel op aarde die zo weinigen ooit vinden
Al zit de kaart in je ziel en zit de weg in je hoofd
Zoveel bergen voor ons, zoveel rivieren om over te steken
Waar is de wijsheid om de verloren visie terug te brengen?
Kunnen we staren met het wonder van kinderen in de oorverdovende nacht
Is het zo donker geworden dat we het licht niet meer kunnen herinneren?
Als je op de grond slaapt met de sterren in je gezicht
U kunt de volledige lengte van de schoonheid en genade voelen
Op de wilde plekken is de mens een onwelkome gast.
