Nou, de dagen zijn lang en het werk is hard
Als je jeugd op het veld wordt doorgebracht
En de zomer leek miljoenen jaren te duren.
Op een dag, toen ik nog een jongen was.
Tijdens zo ' n hete zomer zwelt
De locus werd het zwijgen opgelegd door het spelen van klokken.
En er was iets waar ik naar verlangde.

Toen het circus in de stad kwam
We aten snoep en corndogs.
Suikerspin en candy canes
En we deelden een karamel appel bij de speelhal
En toen de nacht viel en de sterren opstonden.
En licht verblindde de kermis
We reden op het reuzenrad.
Omhoog in de lucht
En er was iets waar ik naar verlangde.

Onze lichamen zagen er zo vreemd uit.
