Je bent op reis.
Door dag en nacht
En er was een passagier aan boord.
Je weet het niet meer.
Wanneer je de baai bereikt
Of zelfs als je ooit aan wal gaat
Een oceaan met golven als deze
Kan wel gemeen worden.
Er is niets anders te doen dan de beek te volgen.
Nee, er is niets te doen.
Maar om de stroom te volgen…
Jij bent het schip.
En nu is het verlaten
Maar de passagier heeft zijn spullen achtergelaten.
Misschien is hij veilig of is hij gestrand.
Hij vloog weg met een paar zwarte vleugels.
Daar ben je, maar niet helemaal alleen.
Je kijkt naar de hemel maar de zon is verdwenen

De dingen die hij je naliet
Zijn herinneringen en woorden
Maar je moet je schip helpen drijven.
Het dek is bedekt met hebzuchtige, zwarte vogels.
En je enige hoop is een Kleine Reddingsboot.

Je kijkt rond, maar geen land in zicht.

Een eenzame reddingsboot weg van het schip
Van de lading staat het op het punt te zinken.

De wachtende vogels zijn nu allemaal verdwenen.
En de leegte in je voelt een beetje raar
