Vanmorgen hoorde ik de geluiden.
De stad die tot de grond afbrandt
Vandaag zag ik de hemel neerstorten.
Ik hoorde een gefluister in mijn oor.
Er stond dat je met me mee moest gaan, weg van hier.
En laat deze brandende gebouwen ver achter je.
Maar het was veel te laat.
Dus alles stortte in.
Ik zie dat je schaduw veel te ver achter je ligt.
En ik zie dat je veel te laat bent.
'S nachts zagen we de sterren exploderen.
De zwartste hemel die we ooit gekend hebben
De maan viel kort daarna.
De aarde waarop wij stonden was aan het branden en zou zo weg zijn
Tenzij de oceanen overstromen.
Ik zie dat je schaduw veel te ver achter je ligt.
En ik zie dat je veel te laat bent.
