Collect all your effects and take a cab straight to the bar

Zes weken onderweg nu, voel ik me een beetje uitgeput.
Er zijn een paar dingen die ik nodig heb en een vriend.
Een paar goede spelletjes flipperen en een dubbele Whisky sour.
Ik spoel het met een biertje en herhaal het opnieuw.
Je weet dat ik je niet kon vinden op de plek waar je vroeger was.
Ik ben gek op Vroeger, Dat ben ik.
Maar ik vroeg rond in de bar en ze zeiden dat je een paar dagen weg was.
Op vakantie in de dronken bak, zeiden ze:
Ik zag dat meisje dat je kende aan de andere kant van de bar.
Ik had nooit gedacht dat ze zo ver zou komen.
Ze zei dat jullie klaar waren, het leek erop dat jullie voor verschillende dingen reden.
Ik zei dat ik het begreep, ik heb die auto gesloopt.
Dus nu zijn er dertien lege flessen, een glas of twee of vier
De lichten gingen aan we gingen naar de deur
Maar de nacht was puberaal en ze zei dat ze meer wilde
En daar bewaarde ze de appelbloesem voor.
Dus de trap op naar haar appartement met de kerstverlichting die knippert
Het is de tweede week van mei, maar dat is goed.
Behalve dat we onder die knipperende lichten ... een grote, oude blik stank openden.
En je ruikt het snel genoeg in één dag
Zaterdag 12 mei draait de politieman de klep.
En de eerste dronkaard van het weekend kwijlt weg.
Verzamel al je spullen en neem een taxi naar de bar.
Je vraagt je af wat de fluisteringen allemaal over
Dat zal ik je vertellen.:
Het gaat over de gemakkelijke glans van alcohol, van beter-niet-doen ' s gedaan
Van knipperende lichten en de vloek van roomates ' tongen
Een hele bar is het waard om die van hen te houden, maar er is maar één nodig.
En dan is het pas die blik, het is jouw beurt, Zoon.
Omdat die flipperkast die ik speel, niet hetzelfde is.
Vroeger konden jij en ik altijd bij elkaar passen.
Ja en de multiball kwam makkelijk net als de herhaling spel
En de weddenschappen wonnen en gooiden hard door het luik.
Dus nu heb ik het gratis spel en er is een fles over mijn hoofd
Mijn tafel kantelt, ik ga naar de vloer
Ik ging op zoek naar een oude vriend, maar ik verloor er een.
Ik verloor alles voor een andere score.
