Afgelopen December werd ik opgeroepen om te dienen, met de Koninklijke Marine in Irak.
Ik kuste mijn familie vaarwel en ging naar de oorlog.
Ik kon ze niet garanderen dat ik terug zou komen.
En ik zou nooit bagatelliseren, het werk dat het leger doet
Maar het lijkt erop dat het de marine jongens zijn die dit gaan doorzetten.
Dus ga bij de marine, het is niet zoals je gehoord hebt.
Iedereen is het erover eens dat het stereotype vervaagd is.
En het is absurd om aan eenzame mannen op zee te denken.
Ze zijn net als jij en ik, zo macho als ze komen.

We hebben een vrouwelijke hoofdstad.
Haar naam is Kapitein Louise.
Ze is angstaanjagend met een skinhead en ze heeft de zeven zeeën gezien
Ze heeft geen gevoel voor humor en discipline.
Maar eigenlijk vindt ze het nog minder leuk als ik haar Lou noem.
De zee wordt verschrikkelijk golvend als je zeilt in de Marine
Maar we hebben je nog steeds nodig.

Ik kan het stereotype versterken, maar ik denk niet dat dat cool is.
