Het was in het jaar van onze Heer 1855.
De sneeuw lag dik, ver en breed.
Over daken door de velden
Heeft Satan zijn teken achtergelaten?
Er is iets kwaads langs uw weg gegaan.
Het was een schepsel van het donker.
Stuur hem terug waar hij vandaan kwam.
Daar stond de houw op en huilde
Bescherm jezelf tegen angst en pijn.
De voetafdruk van Devils komt weer
Er werd nog steeds geen geluid gehoord.
De sneeuw was helder en Wit
Er liep iets over het land.
Tot het ochtendlicht
Over daken door de velden
Wat heeft dit gespleten pad gemaakt?
Niemand wist welk beest het was.
Dat liet dit spookachtige spoor achter.
