Ze rollen het beton eroverheen om het tegen te houden.
Het beton wordt moe van wat het moet doen.,
Het breekt en het buigt en het gras groeit door,
En God zegene het gras.
God zegene de waarheid die naar de zon Vecht.,
Ze rollen de leugens erover en denken dat het gedaan is.
Het beweegt door de grond en reikt naar de lucht,
En na een tijdje groeit het overal.,
En God zegene het gras.
God zegene het gras dat door cement breekt.,
Het is groen en zacht en het is gemakkelijk gebogen,
Maar na een tijdje tilt het zijn hoofd op,
Want het gras leeft en de steen is dood.

God zegene het gras dat zacht en laag is
Haar wortels zijn diep en haar wil zal groeien.
