To Him it’s been a dwelling place where He kept my hand in His.
To me a home away from Home is all it really is.
It sure ain’t fine or fancy, and all I can boast about
Is after all these years, the Lord still lives in this old house.
There were times He had the right to up and move away.
And there were times it took His great amazing Grace to stay.
But He never left this old building once, that’s why I can sing and shout!

Als deze aardse tabernakel vandaag zou worden opgelost,
Ik zou het ruilen voor een fijnere die niet zou sterven.
Maar tot de dag komt dat het tijd is om te verhuizen.,
Het is zo ' n zoete vrede om te weten dat de Heer nog steeds in dit oude huis woont.
De mooiste gemeenschap die ik ken heeft deze muren versterkt.
En er heerst vrede sinds hij hier op en neer is gewonnen.
Met sneeuw op het dak nu en deze scharnieren bijna versleten,
Het is zo fijn om te weten dat de Heer nog in dit oude huis woont.
Voor hem was het een woning waar hij mijn hand in de zijne hield.
Voor mij is een thuis weg van huis alles wat het is.
Het is zeker niet fijn of chique, en alles waar ik over kan opscheppen
Na al die jaren woont de Heer nog steeds in dit oude huis.
Er waren momenten dat hij het recht had om op te staan en te verhuizen.
En er waren momenten dat zijn geweldige genade moest blijven.
Maar hij heeft dit oude gebouw nooit verlaten, daarom kan ik zingen en schreeuwen!
Want na al die jaren woont de Heer nog steeds in dit oude huis.
