De tijd dat ik me herinner dat ik niets in de zon zag
Een trilling in m ' n botten. eindelijk was er iets begonnen.
Het licht tussen de gebouwen steeg niet zo hoog of sterk
Maar schuin door het raam, net als toen de dagen lang waren.
De vorst viel op het park toen alle schooljongens naar binnen gingen.
De postbode en de politieman lieten hun hoed vallen en trokken hun pas af.
En de wind waait op de stoep en het hangt buiten de deur
Wachten op de zomer terwijl we op de grond liggen
Maar als ik over de wegen kijk en weet wat ik weet
Net als de slaap als al onze dagen nieuw zijn.
Beneden, in slaap zingend, droomde ik naast je
Terwijl mijn hand losliet liet je een kleine indruk achter op de hoek van de stoel.
Als je er langs liep, zou je nooit weten dat het er is.
