Soms als ik denk dat liefde er niet is
Mijn hart begint te zinken, ik hoor geen geluid
En de wereld is in duisternis, geen licht schijnt op mij
Ik lijd geen blindheid, niemand kan ik zien
Dan een flits uit de hemel, als luid gekartelde draad
En de stilte is gebroken, en de nacht staat in brand.
Het is als ketting bliksem, deze liefde die ik voel
Wie weet waar het toeslaat.
Of wanneer het zal raken
Hoe lang het zal duren, of wanneer het zal stoppen
In het bos verbrand ik, neergeslagen door de ontploffing
De koorts stijgt en de hitte stijgt snel.
En degenen die het dichtst bij staan tonen hun bezorgdheid.
Maar zweer, als zij mij aanraken, dat zij verbrand zullen worden.
Ze vrezen voor hun leven, want de dood zal spoedig wonen
